Safety
Safety is the standard, not the upsell.
A liveaboard takes you far from shore. We make sure the boat carrying you is one we would dive ourselves.
Our standards
What every Verafi boat must meet.
In-person operator vetting
Before any boat lists on Verafi, we inspect it in person and verify the operator's licenses, permits, and safety records. Operators who fall short of our standards are not listed — and we re-check them on a rolling basis.
Vessel & equipment checks
We confirm that each vessel carries serviced compressors, in-date tanks, life rafts, life jackets, fire suppression, and redundant navigation. Rental dive gear is serviced on a documented schedule, not on guesswork.
Emergency readiness
Every listed boat carries emergency oxygen, a first-aid kit, and a written evacuation plan with the nearest recompression chamber identified. Crew brief guests on emergency procedures before the first dive.
Certified crew & guides
Dive guides hold current professional certifications (Divemaster or Instructor level) and emergency-first-response training. We confirm guide-to-diver ratios are within safe limits for each site's conditions.
Diving is shared responsibility.
We hold operators to a high bar. Staying safe underwater also depends on you. Before you board, please make sure you can meet the following.
- Hold a recognised certification (Open Water minimum; many sites recommend Advanced).
- Carry dive insurance that covers liveaboard diving and chamber treatment — DAN or equivalent.
- Declare relevant medical conditions honestly before departure.
- Dive within your training, certification, and logged-dive experience.
- Respect crew briefings, marine-park rules, and conservation guidelines.
